I feel like shouting it from every roof top in the city. The relief I feel that my monkey is completely potty trained and I don’t have to buy any more pull ups is overwhelming. By no means was it easy and I know that every child learns when he/ she is ready but MAN, after almost 6 months of giving it a try it’s finally over. No more searching for coupons and sale prices to stock up on diapers, No more running out last minute to buy a pack of pull up to take to school no more lugging around a bag full of diapers and wipes. With that said, it’s also a reflection that my baby is growing up. Slowly all the items that you associate with your baby are gone. No more crib, no more bottles, no more diapers.
Now don’t worry I have no inkling to go run out and make another baby. I’m proud of my monkey. I also know he is proud of himself as well. My Monkey says “I did it I did it” that alone made me so happy and we did the party potty dance.
I’m not going to tell you it was easy. I tried every tip moms would give me. We ended up with a lot of peed on furniture and many tantrums at the toilet. I even placed his training potty in his tent to encourage sitting on it to go poo. But with all that he eventually showed me he was ready the day we were at a friend’s house and he asked to use the toilet. I also noticed he started to sleep thru the night with a dry pull up. So moms/dads don’t worry it happens. They eventually embrace the idea and show you they can do it.
Let me know your experience with potty training. Leave me comments and question. I love hearing from everyone.
